چکیده

Spectral distribution theory, which can be used to compare microscopic interactions over a broad range of nuclei, is applied in an analysis of two modern effective interactions based on the realistic CD-Bonn potential for 0~Ω no-core shell model calculations in the fp shell, as well as in a comparison of these with the realistic shell-model GXPF1 interaction. In particular, we explore the ability of these interaction to account for the development of isovector pairing correlations and collective rotational motion in the fp shell. Our findings expose the similarities of these two-body interactions, especially as this relates to their pairing and rotational characteristics. Further, the GXPF1 interaction is used to determine the strength parameter of a quadrupole term that can be used to augment an isovector-pairing model interaction with Sp(4) dynamical symmetry, which in turn is shown to yield reasonable agreement with the low-lying energy spectra of 58Ni and 58Cu.

Gamow shell model and realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions

We present a new and efficient method to obtain a Gamow shell-model basis and matrix elements generated by realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions. We derive a self-consistent Hartree-Fock potential from the renormalized NLO interaction model. The corresponding Gamow one-body eigenstates are generated in a plane wave basis in order to build a Gamow shell-model set of basis states for the closed ...

Shell-model calculations and realistic effective interactions

A review is presented of the development and current status of nuclear shell-model calculations in which the two-body effective interaction between the valence nucleons is derived from the free nucleon-nucleon potential. The significant progress made in this field within the last decade is emphasized, in particular as regards the so-called Vlow−k approach to the renormalization of the bare nucl...

Correlated Realistic Two-Body Interactions and the Tjon Line

With the advent of realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions, which reproduce the experimental NN scattering phase shifts and deuteron properties with high precision, the importance of three-body interactions became evident. Ab initio solutions of the nuclear many-body problem for p-shell nuclei, e.g. in the framework of Green’s Function Monte Carlo or no-core shell model approaches, have demonstr...

The shell model as a unified view of nuclear structure

The last decade has witnessed both quantitative and qualitative progress in shell-model studies, which have resulted in remarkable gains in our understanding of the structure of the nucleus. Indeed, it is now possible to diagonalize matrices in determinantal spaces of dimensionality up to 109 using the Lanczos tridiagonal construction, whose formal and numerical aspects are analyzed in this rev...

Ab initio description of p-shell hypernuclei.

We present the first ab initio calculations for p-shell single-Λ hypernuclei. For the solution of the many-baryon problem, we develop two variants of the no-core shell model with explicit Λ and Σ(+),Σ(0),Σ(-) hyperons including Λ-Σ conversion, optionally supplemented by a similarity renormalization group transformation to accelerate model-space convergence. In addition to state-of-the-art chira...
